The rapid evolution of artificial intelligence, natural language processing (NLP), and voice-enabled technologies has transformed the way consumers interact with digital commerce platforms. Voice Search Optimization (VSO) has emerged as a strategic component of modern e-commerce systems by enabling users to perform product searches, compare prices, access recommendations, and complete purchases using conversational voice commands. Unlike traditional keyword-based search, voice search relies on semantic understanding, contextual interpretation, and personalized query processing, thereby requiring sophisticated optimization techniques to improve retrieval accuracy and user satisfaction. This paper presents a comprehensive study of voice search optimization in e-commerce platforms by examining the underlying technologies, including automatic speech recognition (ASR), natural language understanding (NLU), machine learning, and recommendation systems. The study also discusses architectural components, optimization methodologies, ranking mechanisms, and performance evaluation metrics associated with voice-enabled commerce. Furthermore, the paper reviews recent literature to identify current research trends, implementation challenges, and opportunities for enhancing multilingual support, contextual awareness, and conversational search capabilities. The findings demonstrate that effective voice search optimization significantly improves search precision, customer engagement, conversion rates, and overall shopping experience while supporting scalable and intelligent digital commerce ecosystems. The presented survey provides a valuable reference for researchers and industry practitioners developing next-generation voice-driven e-commerce applications.
