ArticlesAbstract
Event-driven architecture (EDA) is developing as a viable method to modern corporate system development that requires scalability, adaptability and rapid reaction to changing business conditions. Event-Driven Architecture (EDA) is an architectural paradigm where applications communicate with each other using events as opposed to the standard request-response style. In EDA services can execute independently without disturbing data exchange. As enterprises increasingly depend on real-time insights to power decision-making, customer engagement and operational efficiency, the requirement for solid real-time data processing solutions has never been more critical. In terms of popularity , Apache Kafka is a prominent distributed event-streaming technology for high-throughput , fault-tolerant data pipelines . On the other hand, Spring Boot allows building microservices and event-driven programs with its extensive framework support and rapid development features. The paper investigates the design and implementation of event-driven enterprise systems utilizing Apache Kafka and Spring Boot, focusing on the integration of these technologies for scalable and dependable business applications. The main goal is to evaluate their usefulness in providing asynchronous communication, improving the stability of the system and providing real-time event processing in distributed systems. The research is held following the approach of a practical implementation. The practical implementation consists of developing an enterprise application prototype with Kafka for event stream and Spring Boot for service orchestration and integration. System responsiveness, message reliability, performance and scalability are tested with respect to a number of operational situations. The results demonstrate that using Kafka and Spring Boot helps to improve the decoupling of the system significantly, reduce the processing latency and improve the fault tolerance compared to traditional tightly linked designs. This example shows how event-driven patterns may be used to integrate multiple services of the firm smoothly, leaving an opportunity for future expansion. The main contribution of this research is the practical framework and implementation approach to help organizations modernize their enterprise applications based on event-driven principles and provide valuable insight into the benefits, challenges and best practices associated with deploying Kafka- and Spring Boot-based enterprise solutions.
