ArticlesAbstract
Rapid digital transformation has become a need and as such, organizations are now turning away from traditional ways of software development to embrace low-code platforms like Power Platform that Microsoft has brought forth which allows them to develop solutions faster with minimal effort. Low-code tools, once viewed as a solution for simple departmental applications, have now been enhanced due to technological changes like cloud computing, artificial intelligence, governance features, and enterprise-level integration so that the Power Platform has become an environment that supports enterprise-grade innovation. This paper is an exploration of how Microsoft Power Platform serves as a bridge connecting citizen and professional developers allowing the former to work more closely with business people and together with them drive innovation without the company having to compromise on security, compliance, and its efficiency. The work sets out to analyze three things: the platform's evolutionary development, how it affects the current state of enterprise application development through Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot Studio, and Data verse, also the main drivers of successful adoption in different sectors. Drawing upon qualitative study as a research approach and using the literature review, Microsoft documentation, industry reports, as well as real-life implementation cases, a combination of these elements will be used to look at platform features, governance models, and the strategies for automation, along with the possibilities for integration with Microsoft 365, Azure, Dynamics 365, and AI-powered services. The analysis reveals that Power Platform not only reduces the time taken and the costs of a development process but also creates an enabling environment that fosters business-IT teamwork and automation of the business processes, in turn, supports a culture of analytics to make more data-driven decisions and ultimately allows organizations to adapt more rapidly with shifting business requirements.
