  • Abstract

    Counterfeiting poses serious risks to trust, brand value, and consumer safety across industries such as pharmaceuticals, electronics, and FMCG. Traditional methods like holograms and barcodes are vulnerable to cloning and lack interoperability. This paper proposes a QR code–blockchain integrated system to ensure product authenticity and traceability. The architecture uses cryptographically secured QR codes combined with smart contracts to record lifecycle events such as manufacturing, shipping, and sales. An on-chain/off-chain model improves efficiency while maintaining data integrity. Features like role-based access, Proof-of-Authority blockchain, and privacy-aware data sharing enhance system performance. Experimental results indicate improved transparency, faster verification, and higher counterfeit detection. The study concludes with implementation guidelines and future directions in scalable, secure, and interoperable anti-counterfeiting solutions.
