The User Experience (UX) has become one of the come-or-go factors in the successful next-generation mobile applications as users demand more of a smooth, personalized, and smart interactions. The recent rapid innovations in mobile hardware, mobile network infrastructure, including 5G, artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR) and edge computing have had a significant impact on the way users engage with their mobile systems. This paper will provide an in-depth evaluation of modern trends in user experience in the next generation mobile app based on usability, accessibility, performance, personalisation as well as trust. The paper summarizes the existing scholarly and industry research, determines the prevailing UX paradigms, and assesses them within the framework of application design and programming. It suggests a systematic approach that involves the use of qualitative analysis, comparative analysis and operational metrics based evaluation to analyze the UX trends in various areas of application such as medical services, financial services, education, and entertainment. The results also spot the trend towards adaptive interfaces, utilizing AI to create a personalized experience, using both multimodal and minimalist interactions and privacy as one of the primary UX determinants. Moreover, the trade-offs between innovation and usability are highlighted, and the main problems that developers have to deal with balancing between performance, security, and user satisfaction. This paper ends with details of the future research and recommendations that can be adopted by designers, developers, and researchers who would like to create user-friendly next-generation mobile applications.
