  • Abstract

A key factor in designing intuitive, engaging, and efficient user experiences is understanding the way users interact with a digital interface. This research is about the examination of user navigation behavior to implement the resultant insights for the enhancement of UI/UX. The work presented here points to the necessity of looking at the behavior of the users underneath the surface of their interaction—understanding how they delve into content, the paths they take to accomplish tasks, and where they experience discomfort points that make using the interface difficult. On top of that, the paper suggests a coherent model that not only uses the abovementioned techniques but also combines them with machine learning clustering, behavioral analytics, and UX heuristics in order to get deep insights from the navigation data. The case study conducted on a medium-sized online store illustrates how the framework made the major changes credited with raising page retention by 18% and task completion rates by 22%. The results point to the fact that detecting user navigation patterns is not only about solving the current problem but also about creating a continuous feedback loop between users and design teams. UI/UX decisions made on the basis of solid data will help designers to create interfaces that are effortlessly usable, lower the cognitive load, and increase user satisfaction. In the end, it's a user navigation data approach that turns into a tactical design asset—helping the teams to come up with the user journeys that are not only practical but also have the power to evoke positive emotions, thus leading to sustained engagement and longer-term ‍‌‍‍‌loyalty.
