Publication Ethics & Best Practices
The International Journal of Emerging Trends in Multidisciplinary Research (IJETMR) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and publication ethics in academic writing. As advised by the Committee on Publication Ethics, the journal adheres to globally accepted ethical standards to guarantee openness, responsibility, and equity throughout the publication process. Every submission that is submitted must be unique, unpublished, and not being considered anywhere else. It is the responsibility of authors to make sure that all sources are correctly credited and that their work is devoid of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, and any other type of academic misconduct.
Additionally, authors must recognise all funding sources and declare any conflicts of interest. All listed authors must have accepted the final manuscript and contributed significantly to the study in order for proper authorship to be upheld. Ghostwriting and guest authorship are not accepted by the journal. It is required of editors and reviewers to treat manuscripts with the utmost confidentially and to assess submissions impartially, without prejudice or personal interest, on the basis of scholarly merit. Conflicts of interest must be declared, and participants must, if needed, withdraw from the review process.
Plagiarism Policy
IJETMR maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and any form of academic misconduct. All submitted manuscripts must be original works of the authors and must not contain copied material without proper citation. The journal uses reliable plagiarism detection tools to screen submissions prior to peer review. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding acceptable limits (generally 10–15%, excluding references and common phrases) may be rejected outright or returned to authors for revision.
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to, direct copying, paraphrasing without attribution, self-plagiarism (duplicate publication), and unauthorized use of data or ideas. Authors are responsible for ensuring proper citation of all sources and adherence to academic writing standards. If plagiarism is detected at any stage—before or after publication the journal reserves the right to reject, retract, or remove the article and notify the author’s affiliated institution if necessary.
All judgements are based on the calibre and applicability of the research because the peer review process is carried out in a timely, transparent, and equitable manner. The journal investigates alleged ethical misbehaviour using established protocols, which may lead to the manuscript's rejection, correction, or retraction. In these kinds of projects, authors are expected to participate completely.
The journal promotes the ethical application of AI-assisted technologies and generative AI. Before submitting, authors are only permitted to use these tools to improve their language and readability, and any such use must be properly reported. To maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the peer review process, editors and reviewers are not allowed to use AI technologies during evaluation or decision-making.
By these actions, IJETMR hopes to expand knowledge in applied data science and contemporary computing, cultivate a culture of ethical research, and increase confidence in scholarly publishing.
AI Policy
- The growing significance of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in scholarly writing and publishing is recognised by IJETMR.
- Before submitting articles, authors are permitted to utilise AI techniques only to improve language quality, readability, or grammar.
- AI technologies must be declared in the publication and cannot be used to do original research, create data, manipulate outcomes, or offer deceptive interpretations.
- In order to preserve confidentiality and integrity, the journal forbids editors and reviewers from using generative AI during the evaluation and peer review process.
- It is not appropriate to upload manuscripts and associated correspondence to outside AI platforms since they are private.
- As long as they follow ethical guidelines, the journal may employ safe, proprietary AI algorithms for administrative duties like plagiarism detection and manuscript screening.
- Misuse of AI technologies by authors, reviewers, or editors is regarded as a serious ethical violation, potentially leading to manuscript rejection, retraction, or disciplinary action. No AI content is appreciated.
Malpractice Statement
Sanctions for data fabrication and falsification will be applied to submitted articles that are discovered to contain either created or falsified experimental results, including picture manipulation. While reviewers are supposed to offer unbiased, helpful, and private evaluations, editors are in charge of making sure that every contribution is assessed impartially and only on the basis of academic merit. Authors are required to make sure that their entries are unique, truthful, and adhere to all ethical guidelines.
Citation manipulation sanctions will be applied to submitted publications that contain citations whose main goal is to boost the number of citations to a certain author's work or to articles published in a specific journal.
Sanctions for duplicate submission and publication will apply to manuscripts that are discovered to have been published or to be undergoing review elsewhere. When authors base a submitted manuscript on their own previously published work or material that is still undergoing review, they must credit the prior work and explain how the proposed manuscript adds something new.
