Editorial Policies

International Journal of Emerging Trends in Multidisciplinary Research (IJETMR) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal committed to having the highest ethical standards in publishing. The journal is published under the World Comet Research Group.

Paper Submission and Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are screened by the assigned editor for originality, relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, overall quality of presentation, and adherence to submission guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet basic standards may be desk-rejected with constructive feedback. Every submission undergoes an initial assessment by an editor to determine if it aligns with the journal's aims and scope.

After passing the first screening, submissions are forwarded for official peer review. Editors have the authority to "desk reject" any work that does not adhere to the minimal requirements for clarity or quality. The journal requires that all submissions be original and not currently under consideration by any other publication. Editors should treat all submitted manuscripts with fairness and without bias. Decisions should be based solely on the quality and relevance of the research.

Reviewers are normally given 4–8 weeks to complete their evaluation. Extensions may be granted in special circumstances. After passing preliminary screening, manuscripts are forwarded to two to five outside reviewers with subject-matter expertise.

Expertise, availability, and the lack of conflicts of interest are taken into consideration when choosing reviewers. The journals employ a double-blind peer review procedure in which writers are unaware of the identities of the reviewers.

Ethical Standards & Governance

Authors are responsible for securing permission to publish any third-party material included in the manuscript, such as photographs, datasets, or protected documents. All individuals identified as authors must provide their consent.

The journal emphasizes that study design and research arguments should be properly structured before submission to improve review outcomes. According to the legislative requirements of the study's nation, research involving human or animal subjects must, when applicable, be approved by the relevant ethics committee. The Editor or Reviewer's detailed recommendation will be according to the manuscript’s Acceptance, Consider after Minor Changes, Consider after Major Changes, or Rejection.

Preparation Guidelines

Manuscript Structure: Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, References.

Editorial Decision

The editor considers all reviews and makes the final decision. If two or more reviewers recommend rejection, the manuscript will be rejected. The editor may require further revisions or consult additional reviewers when necessary. Once the editor is satisfied that the reviewer concerns have been adequately addressed, the manuscript is accepted. Accepted manuscripts undergo a final editorial check for formatting, grammar, and conformity to journal style. Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding the manuscripts under review and the identities of the authors and reviewers.

Transparency

The journals adhere to COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. Authors must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the research or its interpretation. Authors must declare current or recent funding (including for article processing charges) and other payments, goods or services that might influence the work. All funding, whether a conflict or not, must be declared in the ‘Acknowledgments’. If there are none, the authors. Editors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their decisions and should recuse themselves from editorial decisions if a conflict arises.

Open-Acess

The Journal is open-access, articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, allowing free use, distribution, and reproduction provided proper attribution is given to the original authors and the journal.

Plagiarism

IJETMR uses advanced plagiarism detection tools to check for instances of plagiarism. Manuscripts that overlap significantly with other works without proper citation will be rejected. Authors should not submit manuscripts that have been previously published or are under consideration elsewhere. World Comet Research Group uses the Turnitin™ similarity check to detect instances of overlapping and similar text in submitted manuscripts. A similarity index higher than 15% (excluding references and common phrases) will be flagged for editorial review.

AI Policy

The use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the journal editorial process must strictly uphold confidentiality, as all submitted manuscripts and related communications are considered sensitive and proprietary. Editors must not upload manuscripts, decision letters, or any associated content into external AI tools, as this may violate author confidentiality and data privacy. The peer review process relies on human judgment, and therefore, editors are prohibited from using AI to evaluate or make decisions on manuscripts due to risks of inaccuracy, bias, and lack of critical reasoning. Editors remain fully responsible for all editorial decisions and communications.

While authors may use AI tools prior to submission for language and readability improvements, such use must be transparently disclosed. In cases of suspected policy violations, editors should inform the publisher. Additionally, WCRG employs secure, proprietary AI systems aligned with responsible AI principles for tasks like plagiarism detection and reviewer selection, ensuring data protection and ethical compliance while continuing to develop trusted AI solutions to support but not replace human editorial oversight. No AI content is appreciated.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their published articles. By publishing, authors grant the journal a license to publish and distribute the work and to identify itself as the original publisher. Third parties may reuse content under CC BY terms with appropriate citation and attribution. Authors flagged for overlap will be given an opportunity to explain or correct issues before final action is taken.

A corrigendum can fix errors made by the authors, and an erratum can remedy errors made by the publisher.
