  • Abstract

    Climate change poses serious challenges, especially for vulnerable communities in developing regions, where traditional top-down adaptation approaches often fall short. This paper examines Community-Based Climate Change Adaptation (CBCCA) as an inclusive and participatory approach that integrates indigenous knowledge, local resources, and stakeholder engagement to enhance resilience. The study analyzes CBCCA models across coastal, rural, and urban settings, highlighting key factors such as community participation, policy support, and knowledge sharing. It proposes a framework combining quantitative and qualitative methods to assess vulnerability, adaptive capacity, and resilience, along with a composite index to measure effectiveness. Findings show that community-driven approaches significantly improve adaptation outcomes by strengthening local ownership and sustainability, though challenges like funding and scalability remain. The paper concludes by emphasizing the need to integrate CBCCA into broader climate policies and strengthen local governance and collaboration for long-term resilience.
