  • Abstract

Organizational change is an inevitable process driven by technological advancement, market turbulence, regulatory shifts, and socio-economic disruptions. Despite its strategic importance, change initiatives frequently fail due to human and behavioral factors rather than technical limitations. This study examines the influence of leadership styles on organizational change outcomes through an integrated framework combining behavioral theory, organizational psychology, and change management systems. Leadership is conceptualized as a dynamic process of social influence rather than a fixed managerial trait. The paper evaluates transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire leadership styles in relation to employee engagement, trust formation, psychological safety, adaptability, and innovation acceptance. Findings indicate that transformational leadership fosters intrinsic motivation and reduces resistance, while transactional leadership supports short-term compliance but may constrain long-term adaptability. Laissez-faire leadership is associated with ambiguity and reduced performance during change-intensive conditions. Statistical modeling reveals strong correlations between leadership-style alignment and change success, with communication clarity and leadership flexibility serving as key mediators. The study concludes that sustainable organizational change is fundamentally a socially constructed leadership process, emphasizing emotional intelligence, adaptive communication, and vision articulation as critical leadership competencies.
